1. Data Collection

The app أثر باقٍ (Athar Baq) is a religious and devotional application that provides prayer times, Quran reading, Qibla direction, supplications (duas), prophetic traditions (ahadith), and athkar.

Data we do not collect: We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any account information. The app does not require you to create an account or sign in.

Data stored only on your device (local storage):

Your preferred language (Arabic or English)
Your preferred theme (dark or light)
Your last opened Quran page and bookmarks
Your device location (coordinates and a location name) when you use prayer times or Qibla — used only to compute prayer times and Qibla direction and stored locally on your device
Cached prayer times and cached “about app” content to improve performance

Data involved in optional online features:

Firebase Cloud Messaging: If you allow notifications, the app may use a push notification token to receive reminders (e.g. prayer times). This is handled by Google Firebase; we do not use it to identify you personally.
Firebase Firestore: The app may fetch “about app” content (e.g. in memoriam text, company logo) from our servers. No personal data is sent for this.
Prayer times / location: When you use prayer times, your location is used on the device (and possibly by system services such as geocoding) to calculate times. We do not send your location to our own servers for tracking.

2. Use of Data

Any data that stays on your device is used only to provide the app’s features: prayer times, Qibla, Quran progress, bookmarks, language, and theme. We do not use your data for advertising or profiling. Push notifications are used only for religious reminders (e.g. prayer) that you can control in your device settings.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing. Data that remains on your device is not shared. Where we use Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Firestore), Google’s processing is subject to their privacy policy; we do not pass your data to other third parties for their own purposes.

4. Ads & Third-Party Services

The app does not display advertisements. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. The only third-party services used are: Firebase (for optional push notifications and “about app” content), and system services (e.g. location, notifications) necessary for prayer times, Qibla, and reminders.

5. Data Security

Data stored on your device is kept in the app’s local storage (e.g. SharedPreferences). We do not transmit or store your personal information on our own servers. You can clear app data or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.

6. Children’s Privacy

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app does not require registration and does not collect account or contact details. If you believe a child has provided any personal data through the app, please contact us and we will address it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a new “Privacy Policy & Terms” page or in-app notice. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Terms and Conditions

By downloading, installing, or using أثر باقٍ (Athar Baq), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

9. App Usage

You may use the app only for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the app’s source code, or use the app to distribute malware or violate any applicable laws.

You are responsible for your use of the app and for ensuring that your use complies with local laws. Religious content (Quran, ahadith, supplications, etc.) is provided for devotional and educational purposes; you are responsible for how you apply it.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app (including prayer times, Qibla, or any religious content). The app is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

12. App Ownership

أثر باقٍ (Athar Baq) and its branding are owned by the developer. The religious texts and content from authoritative sources remain under their respective rights; we do not claim ownership of such content.
