Privacy Policy

1. Data Collection

We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data.

MyPantry - Home Inventory operates entirely offline. The app stores your inventory information locally on your device using the device's local database (SQLite). This includes:

• Item names, quantities, and categories
• Expiry dates and purchase dates
• Barcode information (if manually entered or simulated)
• Price information and notes
• Item photos (if you choose to add them)

None of this data leaves your device. We do not have access to your inventory data, and it is not shared with any third parties, cloud services, or external servers.

2. Use of Data

Since we do not collect any data, there is no data to use, analyze, or process externally. All data processing occurs locally on your device for the sole purpose of managing your home inventory.

The app uses local notifications to alert you about items expiring soon or running low on stock. These notifications are generated and displayed entirely on your device and do not require any external services.

3. Data Sharing

We do not share any data because we do not collect any data.

Your inventory data remains on your device and is never shared with:

• Third-party services
• Cloud storage providers
• Analytics companies
• Advertising networks
• Any external servers or databases

You have the option to export your inventory data as a CSV file, which is saved locally on your device. This export feature is entirely local and does not transmit data anywhere.

4. Ads & Third-Party Services

MyPantry - Home Inventory does not display advertisements and does not integrate with any third-party advertising services, analytics platforms, or tracking services.

The app uses the following local-only services:

• Local Notifications: Used to alert you about expiring items and low stock. These notifications are generated and displayed entirely on your device.
• Local Database (SQLite): Used to store your inventory data on your device.
• Image Picker: Allows you to optionally add photos to inventory items. Photos are stored locally on your device.

None of these services transmit data to external servers.

5. Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, the security of your inventory data depends on the security of your device. We recommend:

• Using device lock screens (PIN, password, fingerprint, or face recognition)
• Keeping your device's operating system updated
• Using device encryption if available
• Regularly backing up your device if you want to preserve your inventory data

If you uninstall the app, all inventory data stored locally will be deleted. We recommend exporting your data as a CSV file before uninstalling if you wish to preserve it.

6. Children's Privacy

MyPantry - Home Inventory does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13, as we do not collect any information from anyone. The app is safe for use by all ages, as all data remains on the user's device.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted in this document with an updated "Last Updated" date. Since the app operates offline, you may need to check for app updates to see the latest version of this policy.

Your continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.

Terms & Conditions

1. App Usage

By downloading, installing, or using MyPantry - Home Inventory, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

The app is provided for personal, non-commercial use to help you manage your home inventory. You are responsible for:

• Accurately entering and maintaining your inventory information
• Verifying expiry dates and product information
• Making decisions about food safety and consumption based on your own judgment
• Backing up your data if desired (using the CSV export feature)

2. User Responsibility

You acknowledge that:

• The app provides inventory management tools but does not replace your judgment regarding food safety, product expiry, or consumption decisions.
• You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of information entered into the app.
• The barcode scanning feature is simulated/mock data only and should not be relied upon for accurate product identification.
• You should always check product labels and expiry dates before consumption, regardless of what the app displays.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and the data stored on it.

3. Limitation of Liability

MyPantry - Home Inventory is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The app will be error-free or uninterrupted
• All features will work perfectly on all devices
• Your data will never be lost (though it is stored locally on your device)
• The app will prevent food waste or spoilage

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the app.

We are not responsible for any health issues, food poisoning, or other problems that may arise from consuming expired or spoiled items, even if the app indicated they were still valid.

4. App Ownership

MyPantry - Home Inventory, including all intellectual property rights, is owned by the app developers. The app is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use only.

You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute the app or its code
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code
• Use the app for commercial purposes without permission
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notices

5. Device Permissions

The app may request the following permissions:

• Notification Permission: Required to send you alerts about expiring items and low stock. You can deny this permission, but you will not receive notifications.
• Storage Permission (if applicable): Required to save item photos and export CSV files. You can deny this permission, but photo and export features may not work.

All permissions are used only for the stated purposes and do not transmit data outside your device.

6. App Updates

We may release updates to the app that include bug fixes, new features, or improvements. Updates may be available through app stores. You are responsible for keeping the app updated to the latest version.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time without prior notice.

7. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your device. Uninstalling the app will delete all locally stored inventory data.

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the app if you violate these Terms and Conditions, though since the app operates offline, this would typically only apply to app updates or availability through app stores.
